Pedestrian Verse–Frightened Rabbit (ATL Records)

Scott Hutchison’s charming Scottish accent rings clearly throughout this album and adds a nice flavor as well as a more personal, folky element to the songs. Frightened Rabbit is an alternative, indie rock band with a touch of folk; most of their songs are characterized by fast electric guitar power chords, a distinguishable bass line, and a beat that will make you bob your head. The lyrics are full of Scottish banter and puns (see “Holy”, “Late March, Death March”, and “Nitrous Gas”). -Terri Lee, 2/16/13
