Elephant Stone- Elephant Stone (Hidden Pony)

Delightful dreamy rock from high-cred Montreal sitarist Rishi Dhir. This dude is doing psych right. “Setting Sun” is an immediate throwback to the early ’70s, with transcendental guitar (sitar?) lines and bass grooves that make my third eye happy. “A Silent Moment” is my clear favorite, bringing it all together in a sunny odyssey destined for mid-to-high range headphones. “Sally Go Round The Sun” is another winner, with a terrifically groovy sitar alongside a straight, jamming rhythm. “The Sea Of Your Mind” is long, but never loses energy as Dhir, et. al. dissolve into an incredible landscape of sound. I absolutely adored this album on first and second listen and highly recommend it.
